Nikki is a musical-theatre bookwriter/lyricist and opera librettist.
Her recent musical theatre commissions include FIRST LADIES for British Youth Music Theatre, Michael Morpurgo's WHY THE WHALES CAME, also for BYMT, LOVE ME TO DEATH, a modern opera about Ruth Ellis, performed at the Barbican Pit Theatre and the Tête à Tête Opera Festival, DEPTFORD WIVES, Jennie Buckman’s award-winning radio play, staged at E15 Acting School and the National Maritime Museum, plus SUGARBIRD, a short opera for National Opera Studio. A site-specific, al fresco production in a country-house setting of HALF BROKEN THINGS, Nikki's adaptation of Morag Joss’s Silver Dagger Award-winning novel, is scheduled for summer 2021. Meanwhile, Nikki is working with Ben Glasstone (REANIMATOR/THE RHYTHMICS) on a glam-rock-fuelled adaptation of Michael 'Mini' Cooper's autobiography.
Nikki has an MA in Creative Writing (Screenwriting & Playwriting) from City, University of London. She is a member of Mercury Musical Developments (MMD), and is on the Advanced Composer/Lyricist programme at BML (BOOK Music & Lyrics) and the Criterion New Writing programme.
